Project B harnesses satellite intelligence and beavers - nature's own engineers to solve Europe's water crisis. By combining Copernicus space data with beaver habitat science, we pinpoint degraded landscapes where natural restoration delivers the greatest impact — turning forgotten wetlands back into the flood buffers and groundwater reserves our communities depend on. Our mission is to make ecosystem restoration affordable, scalable, and guided by data, so that governments can meet their legal obligations without breaking budgets.
How we choose sites
Each candidate area is scored on ecological value, technical feasibility, social acceptance, and contribution to the basin as a whole. Sites with higher Sponge Index and Beaver Index scores are those where a comparatively small intervention unlocks disproportionate ecological gain.
The map you see on the home page is the live working version of that scoring — open data, open methodology, open to critique.
